The venue for regular meetings of the Kita-Umeda Rotary Club is the Hotel
Plaza, located northwest of JR Osaka Station, one of western Japan's major
transportation hubs. The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the station.
Because the club was established only five years ago, and the average age
of members is just 54, the club is youthful and full of vitality.
Our main objectives for the coming year, which we are working hard to
realize, are as follows:
(1) Promote enthusiasm and joy within the club
(2) Increase membership
(3) Conclude friendship agreements with other clubs
The president of Rotary International, Mr Kinross, chose "the heart of
the Rotary" as this year's theme for Rotarians. Our feeling is that the
heart of the Rotary means the spirit of service that we have the
opportunity to practice along with the other four qualities that make up
the Rotary Club's goals.
Our aim is to make the club warm, enjoyable and rewarding, in accordance
with the established principles of the Rotary Club and by exchanging
information and ideas with other Rotarians all over the world.
